Abstract: Objective To explore the regulatory effect of Tetragenous viable Bifidobacterium Tablets(TVBT) adjuvant therapy on serum inflammatory factors and oxidative stress in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic(T2 DM) patients. Methods A total of 108 patients with newly diagnosed T2 DM who were treated in our hospital from April 2017 to May 2019 were randomly divided into Observation group(n=54) and Control group(n=54). The patients in two groups were given basic treatments such as health education, diet control and exercise, as well as Insulin Glargine and Acarbose to control blood glucose; the patients in control group was given insulin Glargine and Acarbose to control blood sugar, the patients in observation group was additionally given TVBT 1.5 g tid orally, for 12 weeks. The changes of blood glucose, β-cell function, serum inflammation indexes [hypersensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP), interleukin(IL)-6, and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α] and oxidative stress indicators [glutathione peroxidase(GSH-PX) and advanced oxidation protein product(AOPP)] were observed before and after treatment. Results After 12 weeks′ treatment, the levels of serum FFBG[(6.52±0.74) mmol/L,(5.78±0.62) mmol/L] and HbA1 C [(7.42±0.93)%,(6.74±0.87)%] significantly decreased than before in two groups, while the HOMA-β levels(44.78±4.79, 51.87±5.27) were significantly higher than before(37.15±4.49, 36.97±4.58), with the ranges of changes in observation group was more significant than that in control group(all P<0.05). The levels of serum hs-CRP, IL-6 and TNF-α in two groups were significantly lower than before(all P<0.05), with the decrease in observation group was more significant than that in control group(all P<0.05). Moreover, the level of serum GSH-PX in two groups [(204.56±38.13) μg/mL,(248.62±40.42) μg/mL] significantly increased, while the AOPP level [(51.27±10.52) μmol/L、(38.38±8.16) μmol/L] decreased significantly than before(all P<0.05), with the changes in observation group was more significant than that in control group(all P<0.05). Conclusion Tetragenous viable Bifidobacterium Tablets adjuvant therapy for the treatment in newly diagnosed T2 DM patients can improve glucose metabolism indexes and insulin resistance, can promote blood sugar reaching the standard, the mechanism may be closely related to its ability to control the inflammatory responses and reduce oxidative stress.
