Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT)on the social function in patients with bipolar disorder(BD). Methods Sixty patients with remission of bipolar disorder were randomly divided into two groups. The control group(30 cases)maintained the original treatment, and the ACT intervention group(30 cases)was based on the control group. Group interventions were performed twice a week for 1.5 hours each and for 5 weeks. Before and after intervention, the symptoms were evaluated by YMRS and SDS,SDSS was used to evaluate the social function, and CFQ was used to evaluate the effect of group ACT intervention. Results The ACT intervention group had significant differences between before and after treatment in CFQ(t=8.83,P<0.05)and SDSS(t=10.04,P<0.05),also in control group of SDSS(t=3.02,P<0.05). The difference of CFQ(t=-0.77,P>0.05)before and after treatment was not significant;the difference of the difference between SDSS(t=-4.61,P<0.05)and CFQ(t=-8.10,P<0.05)before and after intervention in ACT intervention group has statistical significant. Conclusion ACT can reduce the cognitive fusion of BD patients while reducing symptoms, improve the patient’s psychological flexibility, and improve the degree of social function impairment.
