Abstract: One of the measures Wuhan has taken in reforming preschool education is organizing international development community for preschool education. To survey preschool teachers'attitude toward this learning community, the authors, starting from teachers'sense of identity of the play community, conducted a questionnaire survey in 14 kindergartens in Wu-han. The results indicate that teachers generally like to join the learning community and have a high sense of identity; their identity is significantly related with the classes they teach and their own educational background, but not significantly related with their gender, age, number of years of teaching, rank, or level of kindergarten. Further analysis shows teachers'sense of identity is influenced by cost effectiveness evaluation, practicality, concerns, and both inside and outside support. Therefore, the authors suggest that teachers'sense of identity of play community should be raised so as to promote the development of teachers'ability of doing play in their teaching.
