The Problems Preschool Education Major Students Have in Their Science Education Activities in Kindergartens and Some Suggestions

Abstract: This study did a survey about preschool education major students'ability of designing and implementing science education in kindergartens. The results show (1) the scope of content is narrow, and students'ability of understanding the content is weak; (2) the process of activities is under strong control, and students do not have sufficient knowledge about how children learn; and (3) teaching language is not suitable for children, and students do not comprehend accurately those science terms. Some suggestions are provided including helping preschool education major students build the right value on science education for children, improving their subject matter knowledge in science, encouraging them participate those"sci-entific exploration"activities,and enhancing the connection between theory and practice.
