Operational Effectiveness Evaluation of Sky-Wave Over-the-Horizon Radar Based on Improved ADC Model

Abstract: Sky-wave over-the-horizon radar (SWO-THR) can play an important role in air defense,antimissile and surface surveillance.In order to evalute comprehensively and accurately the combat efficiency of SWO-THR,the impact of ionosphere state and electromagnetic environment for SWO-THR are analyzed according to operational characteristics of SWO-THR.The operational efficiency evaluation index system for SWO-THR is established.An improved ADC model is put forward.Adopting the quantitative and qualitative assessment method,the operational effectiveness of SWO-THR is objectively evaluated according to index data of detection coverage,detection accuracy and detection probability.The method provides a scientific decision-making reference for the operational application and equipment demonstration.
