Ukraine-NATO Relation and Its Influence on Russia

Abstract: After Ukraine Crisis happened,Ukraine considers joining NATO as an important means to return the Europe and safeguard independence and territorial integrity. NATO promotes cooperation with Ukraine mainly for three reasons: continuing to dominate European military and security affairs,meeting the needs of the Central and Eastern European countries maintaining security and curbing Russia’s strategic intent. NATO’s eastward expansion and Ukraine Crisis will make the security situation in western Russia more complicated; Due to profound historical culture relations between Russia and Ukraine,it’s difficult for Russia to accept Ukraine to be cut off from Russia. So Russia made efforts to prevent Ukraine from joining in the NATO. It’s impossible for Ukraine to join into the NATO if the NATO and Russia can’ t reach a compromise on this issue.
