Abstract: The anti‐adhesion performance of Cr‐Al2 O3 composite coating piston ring respectively with 0% ,1 .01% ,1 .68% , 2 .82% ,3 .45% and 4 .38% content of ceramic particle was evaluated by the method of lean oil test and the improvement mecha‐nism of ceramic particle was discussed .The results show that the anti‐adhesion performance of Cr‐Al2 O3 composite coating pis‐ton ring is better than that of original chrome plated piston ring and the performance is related to the content of ceramic parti‐cle .The anti‐adhesion performance of Cr‐Al2 O3 piston ring is the best when the content of ceramic particle is 2 .82% ,improves within the critical content and becomes worse beyond the content with the increase of ceramic particle .
