Abstract: The paper summarizes advantages and disadvantages of existing train positioning methods and puts forward that train wireless positioning will be the developing trend with the introduction of GSM-R system. It explores a train wireless positioning method based on modiifcation of partial GSM-R protocol and explains the structure and implementation of the method. In view of the signiifcance of train positioning, train wireless positioning method should be further tested and veriifed.
