Clinical observation on ultrapulse CO2 laser in the treatment of 72 cases of xanthelasma

Abstract: Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of ultrapulse CO2 laser in the treatment of xanthelasma. Method:Ultrapulse CO2 laser at energy levels of 68 J/cm2 was used to treat 72 patients with xanthelasma under anesthesia with topical lidocaine cream. Results: Fractionated treatment was adopted for patients with larger xanthelasma. The total cure rate was 100% with no recurrence during one year follow-up. Conclusion: Ultrapulse CO2 laser is a safe and effective method for xanthelasma.
