Abstract: Objective To investigate the ultrasonic performance of female patients with stress urinary incontinence (SUI)and to evaluate the application of it in the diagnosis of SUI.Methods In total,136 pa-tients with SUI (case group)and 60 healthy counterparts (control group)were recruited in this study. Both groups received real-time transperineal three-dimensional ultrasound and the ultrasonic characteristics of them were compared. Results The bladder neck mobility of case group was 31 (12)mm and 16 (8)mm for con-trol group. The urethral rotation angle of case group was 60 (29)°and 30 (16)°for control group. The levator hiatus area of case group was 24 (7)cm2 and 16 (6)cm2 for control group.Proportion of urethral funnel of case group was 76 /136 and 4 /60 for control group. The ultrasonic parameters above significantly differed be-tween two groups (all P <0.05).Conclusions SUI patients have specific ultrasonic characteristics including enlarged bladder neck mobility, urethral rotation angle, levator hiatus area and increased rate of urethral fun-nel.Real-time transperineal three-dimensional ultrasound can provide certain reference for the diagnosis of SUI.
