Abstract: For the difficult start problems of M100 methanol engine at low temperature ,methanol was mixed with hydrocar-bon additive .With the prepared methanol blended fuel mixed with 15% gasoline ,8 .5% isopentane and 10% petroleum ether , the cold start performance of methanol engine at -20 ℃ ,-10 ℃ ,0 ℃ was studied respectively .The results show that metha-nol engine fueled with blended fuel can start within 3 .5 s ,2 .5 s and 1 .5 s in turn at three different temperatures .At -10 ℃ , increased initial injection width is helpful to accelerate the start process and the start time can shorten by 0 .2 s ,0 .2 s and 0 .05 s respectively when the initial injection width increases from 110 ms to 130 ms .
