Abstract: As awareness of environmental protection has been strengthened, the substitution of traditional refrigerant has become increasingly important, so the natural refrigerants again attracted the attention of researchers. As one of the natural refrigerant CO2, transcritical heat pump water heater is an important application. The existing research results show that, for the CO2 heat pump water heater system, the performance of the system will be greatly influenced by the performance of gas cooler, which has been investigated both in China and abroad. In the present study, the research status on structure and heat transfer simulation of the gas cooler used in CO2 heat pump water heater was emphatically introduced.
