Adult urticaria pigmentosa treated with UVA1: a case report

Abstract: A case of urticaria pigmentosa(UP) is reported. A 43-year-old man presented with a 5-year history of itchy pigmented macules and plaques on his trunk and extremities. A lot of pigmented macules, plaques and some erythema and scratching markers scattered on the trunks and extremities. Histopathological examination showed large amounts of mast cells in the upper dermis. Giemsa staining was positive. The diagnosis of adult UP was made. The lesions were greatly improved after irradiation with UVA1.
