Abstract: Objective The bactericidal efficacy of atomized slightly acidic electrolyzed water( SAEW) was investigated so as to provide a scientific foundation for future practical application. Methods The suspension quantitative bactericidal test and field trial of air disinfection test were carried out to determine the bactericidal efficacy. Results The result of suspension quantitative bactericidal test showed that the average killing log values of Escherichia coli in suspension exposed to atomized SAEW for 5 min were from 2.0 to 2.48,when the initial available chlorine concentration( ACC) of SAEW was between 10 mg / L to 30 mg / L.In the field trial of air disinfection test, the bactericidal efficacy of atomized SAEW was significant after 120 min operation. The degradation rate of air bacteria was over 90% in airtight space. Conclusion In an airtight environment, the atomized SAEW has effective disinfection effect on air bacteria.
