Abstract: Numerical study of the heat transfer performance of pile heat exchanger in GSHP (ground source heat pump) system was carried out in this paper. Aims at the spiral pipe heat exchanger, the computation model was created and solved through CFD software. The heat transfer characteristics, including in-pipe water temperature, soil and pipe temperature distribution, were analyzed. The result shows that under different operation conditions, the in-pipe water temperature has a characteristic of liner reduction along flow direction, also the outlet water temperature is rising gradually over time. For on-off operation condition, the heat amount released into pile is bigger than that released into soil. The temperature rise of soil and pile caused by heat absorbing during operation period meets the requirements of the design code, which will cause little impact on the structure characteristic of pile.
