Abstract: In the 1990 s, the outbreak of the financial crisis in Mexico and southeastern Asia reveals that un-unified and un-standardized production and dissemination of the financial statistical data of the economic entities around the world place a great influence on the effective operation and the timely aid of the financial markets. In order to prevent the outbreak of the regional financial crisis, the international monetary fund(IMF) has been committed to establish and continuously improve the global economic and financial data dissemination standards since 1994, mainly including the general international standard of data like Special Data Dissemination Standard(SDDS), General Data Dissemination System(GDDS), and other work in terms of data by IMF. In 2002, China joined GDDS,and in 2015 China formally joined SDDS. The paper reviews and analyzes the background, main content and practice of IMF’s data dissemination standard, and sums up the influence of joining IMF’s data dissemination standard on China.
