Abstract: The implementation of the strategy of "Made in China 2025" put forward urgent demand for high-quality application technology talents. Local undergraduate colleges undertake the responsibility and mission of training this kind of talents. From the perspective of "Made in China 2025", the local undergraduate colleges should realize transformation and development by the measures of "persisting in the school-running orientation of serving local economic and social development, the ability-based and application-standing talent cultivation system, the production-teaching integrated and combined innovation applied scientific research and the teaching staff equally having the academic background and enterprise experience. At the same time, the transformation and development of local undergraduate colleges should also adhere to the nature of higher education and the nature of higher education institutions: paying attention to the cultivation of students' core qualities and attaching importance to subject construction.
