Abstract: The entrance axle counter sensor of train retarders is one of necessary basic equipment in hump automation system. To fully play its functions is the foundation of realizing the intelligent control of train retarders. So comprehending the functions of the entrance axle counter sensor is the key to understand the automatic control principle of train retarders, which can provide important reference for the research, engineering design, installation implementation, maintenance and inspection of hump automation system.%
