Abstract: The natural and artificial factors, consisting of severe cold, drought, wind erosion, sand soil, variety selecting, seeding time, seeding method, overwinter fertilizing, autumn cutting and overwinter watering, which affected alfalfa overwintering and reviving in China Forage Capital were systematically analysed in this paper. The conclusions were as follows. The principal contradiction that determined the success or failure of alfalfa overwintering and reviving in China Forage Capital was drought and drought resisting. The key reason which affected alfalfa overwintering and reviving in China Forage Capital was overwinter watering.
