Abstract: With the spreading of peste des petits ruminants (PPR) in recent years, there was an outbreak of large size in Ningxia province in 2014, which intimidated the animal sanitary safety of China and had signiifcant impact on the development of livestock economy, especially on the development of sheep husbandry. Therefore, the study of this disease is of great practical signiifcance. This paper is about the detailed descriptions of the latest researches of the biological characteristics of the etiology of peste des petits rumi-nants virus (PPRV), physicochemical property, pathogenesis, characteristics of pathological changes, all kinds of detecting techniques, and its prevention methods, hoping to provide references for the future related study.
