Abstract: A case of erythroplasia treated with photodynamic therapy mediated with 5-aminolevulinic acid(ALA-PDT) is reported. A 56-year-old man had itchy, scaling erythema on his glans and foreskin for 6 months, and erosion on his glans for 7 days. Histopathology showed parakeratosis and epidermal hyperproliferation. The proliferative epidermal cells were atypical and randomly arranged. Scattered lymphocyte infiltration presented in the upper dermis. The diagnosis was erythroplasia.Following 3 treatments with ALA-PDT every 10-15 days, lesions disappeared with no cicatrix or any genital dysfunction.
