Evaluation of the quality of life in male patients with androgenetic alopecia

Abstract: Objective: To assess the quality of life in patients with androgenetic alopecia(AGA). Methods: The quality of life in 165 AGA patients were assessed by dermatology life quality index(DLQI). Reliability, validity and related factors of questionnaires were also analyzed. Results: The average score of DLQI was 5.50±4.44 in male patients with AGA. DLQI varied significantly with age, marital status and alopecia severity. Conclusion: AGA affects the quality of life in male patients.The quality of life is negatively correlated with age, hair loss severity and marital status.
