Initial Measurements of Drifts of Gyroscope for Strapdown Inertial Systems

Abstract: This report gives out a new method for measuring and compensating the initial con-stant drifts of gyroscopes for strapdown inertial systems. The constant drift (c.d) is the sum ofthe unchanged drift with time and the part of the random constant drifts which are differentialat every system-activating time and vary slowly with time. The constant drifts of the two an-gular velocity gyroscopes along the measurement axes x_b,y_b and z_b of the body coordinatecan be measured respectively with the introdueed two-positition method. Its feasibility has badproved by simulations.
