Keyword:  Li Chui's Epitaph of the Tang DynastyStatus of the Tomb OccupantsContrast;
Abstract: The tomb of Li Chui is a small-sized tomb among that of the Tang Dynasty, and the grave goods and the brick epitaph with cinnabar-written inscription are also very inferior. However, a set of the exquisite practical utensils represented by the jewelry-adorned headgear were also unearthed from this tomb, which made a sharp contrast with those coarse grave goods and crude brick epitaph. Through the interpretation of the epitaph text, this paper made clear the status of the tomb occupant; referring to the political systems and social life customs, this paper also tried to give the reason for forming this contrast.
