Abstract: The murals of the Wanzhang mural tomb of the Northern Dynasties are that of the Northern Dynasties painted with the highest levels found to date; they have great historic, artistic and scientific values. Because of the unsuitable processing methods and protecting materials applied to them after they were detached and transferred into the room, these murals have suffered from multiple and complicated diseases. This paper selected a fragment of the murals to summarize its basic characteristics, the restoration methods, the application of the restoration materials, the processing of these materials, etc., and analyzed the completing of the missing parts of the mural and the concrete operating techniques of the coloring.
