Abstract: In November 2010, Xi'an Municipal Institute of Cultural Heritage Conservation and Archaeology excavated a tomb of the Sui Dynasty in the southwest of the new campus of the Xijing College. This tomb was well preserved, from which an epitaph bearing exact date was unearthed. The excavation of this tomb provided new materials for the research on the structures of the burials of the Sui Dynasty in Guanzhong area, and also provided references for completing the genealogy of the Wei Family in Jingzhao (capital vicinity) area and iflled the gap in the sequence of the“Duke Xiaoyao (the descendants of Wei Qiong of the Northern Zhou Dynasty)”branch of the Wei Family.
