Abstract: The re-design of the entrance examination for different types of higher vocational colleges is directly related to the structure of the modern vocational education system. The entrance examination in the developed countries and regions represented by Germany and Chinese Taiwan manifest four basic characteristics: autonomy, integrity, diversity and vocational. The entrance examination of higher vocational colleges under the modern vocational education system must reform from five aspects: Firstly, use examination classification system; secondly, expand the enrolment autonomy of the higher vocational college; thirdly, establish a system of comprehensive examination combined with process and result evaluation; fourthly, establish a unified, multiple examination evaluation system; fifthly, increase the proportion of professional skills talents in higher vocational colleges.
