Abstract: Patent law of the People’s Republic of China and the detailed rules for the implementation of patent law establishes a reward system for service inventors. As for institutes and universities, situations are distinctive since their patents belong to the scope of state-owned assets. This paper discusses the current situations and existing problems of the reward system for service inventors inside institutes and universities, and tries to put forwards some countermeasures.
