Abstract: Objective To explore the expression and clinical significance of paxillin in human ovari-an cancer. Methods Seventy ovarian cancer and 30 normal ovary specimens were collected. The expression level of paxillin proteins was measured by tissue microarray technology and immunohistochemical staining using the EnVision system. The relationship between the expression of paxillin and clinicopathological indexes was analyzed. Results The positive rate of paxillin protein was 78.6%in the ovarian cancer samples,significant-ly higher compared with 26.7%in the normal ovary (P<0.01 ). The expression of paxillin was closely corre-lated with histological grade, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis (all P<0.05 ),rather than age and pathological type (both P>0.05 ). Conclusions Abnormal expression of paxillin proteins may be associated with the incidence and development of ovarian tumors. And it may be used as one of reference markers for clin-ical prognosis.
