Abstract: The paper focuses on the activities which are done on the internet at home and proposes the internet independence concept, which is based on the 2012 survey questionnaires about personal information usage. The paper builds up the index system, uses the factor, cluster, regression to analyse the citizen home internet dependence level on time- geography and attributes characteristic, influence factor. The result shows that the home independence degree/level could be divided into three parts: non-dependence, light-independence and heavy-dependence. From the perspective of time length about home internet dependence, the differences between residents’ weekend activities at home are small. In addition people have plenty of time at home at weekends which is much more than that on weekdays. The internet activities at home at weekends concentrate from 17 to 23 o’clock. Spatial pattern shows that the distance decreases from inner to outer city. Home internet dependence decreases from Caochang Gate and Gulou to Confucius temple and Huju road. With the method of variance test, different home internet dependence level has a significant difference in educational degree, information usage level, regional feature and internet activities, but not(no significant difference) in sex and age. Besides, citizens’ socioeconomic and attributes of home and workplace, spectially age, information equipment level and the commute distance also significantly affect the internet dependence.
