Abstract: Indonesian Parliament is a key institution in democratization. It is reasonable to study Indonesian Parliament by analyzing religious composition,one component of the theory of vertical cleavage. After surveying the data of DPR of 1999,DPR of 2004 and DPD of 2004,we can classify Indonesian congressmen into secularists and non- secularists,and secularists are nearly equal to non- secularists in proportion. Moreover,non- secularists congressmen can be classified into Traditionalist Islam,Modernist Islam and non- Islam religious( Christian),and Traditionalist Islam are nearly equal to Modernist Islam in proportion. It is also regional of the religious composition of Indonesian Parliament. The religious composition of Indonesian Parliament is heterogeneous and various,which implies the secularism interior politics and moderate Islam foreign policy of Indonesia.
