Abstract: Anal canal carcinoma is a rare malignant tumor presenting increasing incidence. It is a type of colorectal carcinoma with its distinct diagnostic and treatment feature. Most anal canal carcinoma pa-tients have papilloma virus co-infection and immunosuppression. Chemoradiation-based combination therapy is the standard treatment for localized anal canal carcinoma. Multidisciplinary approach can prolong survival and improve quality-of-life in patients. This article provides a current review of the diagnosis and treatment of anal canal carcinoma.
