Abstract: During the process of rolling ingot with a liquid core the effect of the liquid core ratio on different factors of metal deformation has been investigated by a simulation experiment. The experimental results show that a 8.5ton ingot of rimming steel with a liquid core ratio less than or equal to 6% can be normally rolled and its products prove superior in quality. This ratio has been applied in blooming production of rolling steel satisfactorily.
