Abstract: The paper describes the role of provincial center of quality control and improvement in intensive care unit for newborns, including the provision of quality assurance measures and technical guidance; improvement of provincial newborns care quality management system; formulation of provincewide construction specifications and technical specifications for newborns ICUs; establishment of medical accidents reporting mechanism for newborns in the province, establishment and improvement of newborns transfer network in the province; prevention and treatment for retinopathy of premature infants; and prospective large-scale multiple-center researches. It points out that such control centers are conducive to a better medical quality for newborns departments in the province, and a harmonious doctorpatient relationship.
