Abstract: Analysis of the problems found in the response speed of medical rescue teams,preparations for medical rescue, coordination of medical resources, role performanee of the commanding authorities, and capabilities of volunteer teams in the emergency medical rescue for Wenchuan Earthquake, and the countermeasures proposed; time is of the essence in taging the rescue; rescue medical workers are required to be in command of comprehensive first-aid capabilities and general practice medical qualifications; staging of medical rescue in a focused, phased and organized manner; echelon allocation of medical rescue teams and reasonable deployment of medical resources; giving full play of the functions of medical and healthcare commanding authorities; greater resources from the state,enhancement of calamities prevention awareness of all the nationals, and improvement of the state capabilities against a varieties of calamities.
