Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of nursing intervention on knee functional recovery after patella fracture surgery and how to improve the quality of life of patients. Methods A total of 103 patients who had patella fracture surgery from March 2012 to 2014 were selected based on hospitalization number and were divided into two groups with 51 in control group to receive routine care and 51 in the observation group to receive not only routine but also rehabilitation care. The effect of intervention on knee function rehabilitation was observed and compared. Results As to the efficacy, the cure rate in control group was 27.45% while the total effective rate was 84.31%; the cure rate in observation group was 41.18% while the total effective rate was 94.12%; cure rate and total effective rate in observation group were significantly better than that in control group (P<0.05 ). At two weeks after nursing intervention, scores evaluated by pain visual analogue scale and HSS scores of muscle strength, mobility, stability and flexion deformity rates were better than that at three days after nursing intervention (P<0.05). Scores of pain, morning stiffness, joint function and total score in observation group were significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention in early stage is conducive to the functional recovery of knee joint after the patella fracture surgery and can improve life quality of patients.
