Abstract: Objective To explore the application and performance analysis of inpatient ECG information systems. Methods Inpatient ECG process was improved by ECG information systems, and processes, such as all staff training, establishment of management team and incentive mechanisms were adopted. The reporting time, patient satisfaction and cost of ECG printing before and after the improvement were compared. Results Before and after the process improvement, the ECG reporting time of inpatients reduced from (27.89±5.39)min to (6.42±0.85)min, the satisfaction of patient improved from 94.9% to 100%, ECG printing costs reduced from 1 yuan to zero. The differences were statistically significant. Conclusion The application of information technology in ECG process can improve patient satisfaction, limit the cost of supplies, enhance the work efficiency of the hospital and diagnostic quality of ECG.
