Abstract: The engineering machinery always has hoods of big size, difficult to be turned, which brings inconvenience to machine repair work. Installing gas spring solves the problem at this time. Generally, gas spring hinge point location design process is referring to the posi-tion of the old similar models to decorate a new one, which is blindness, and lack of scientific basis. By doing mechanics analysis combined with the using of EXCEL software, we can quickly and efficiently design gas spring hinge point location.
