Abstract: This paper expounds the necessary development of fault diagnosis technology for hydraulic system. According to the technical characteristics of hydraulic system fault diagnosis, that can be divided into three stages of development, theories and approaches of fault di-agnosis technology in each stages are comprehensive analyzed and summed up. Suggestions and comments are given for further research ef-forts.
