Abstract: To analyze the current situation and problems of safety management in emergency department and discuss the management countermeasures of strengthening the safety management and reducing the doctor-patient disputes so as to reduce the risk of safety management in emergency department and improve the quality of nursing services. The main problems of safety management in the hospital emergency department reflected in two aspects: the hospital and nursing personnel. As for the hospital, problems included that relevant rules and regulations was not sound and hospital infrastructure equipment could not meet the demand of emergency services. As for nursing personnel, problems included the lack of knowledge regarding first aid, unskilled operation skills, the lack of cognition of the system and poor implementation. According to the problems existing in the emergency department, targeted measures were taken included establishing and improving the leading group of safety management, clarifying medical staff responsibilities, strengthening the management on hospital infrastructure facilities so as to make the nursing safety management in emergency department standardized and institutionalized and reduce the risks of safety management.
