Abstract: Objective To evaluate the impact of continuing nursing on the mood and life quality of patients with uterine fibroids so as to provide health intervention management guidance for their follow-up visits.Methods 274 patients with uterine fibroids from July 2013 to May 2015 were included in the study. They using random were divided into the continuing nursing group (n=137) and routine follow-up visit group (n=137) with random number table. The continuing nursing group took specifically developed continuing nursing measures and routine follow-up visit measures while the control group only took routine follow-up visit measures. After six months' intervention, evaluated patients' mood change with Zung self-rating anxiety and depression scale. Compared the emotional state and differences of life quality between two groups after evaluating patients' life quality with SCL-90 scale.Results After six months' intervention, the anxiety and depression score of continuing nursing group was significantly reduced compared with that of routine follow-up visit group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The score in terms of somatization, obsession, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility, terror and psychosis for continuing nursing group was significantly reduced compared with that of routine follow-up visit group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Continuing nursing had a positive impact for patients with uterine fibroids on their emotional state and health condition after discharging from hospital.
