Abstract: Objective To learn the influencing factors of self-management behaviors of patients with AIDS so as to provide a reference for further intervention.Methods With qualitative research methods and semi-structured interviews, the data of 20 patients with AIDS were analyzed and summarized by the use of Miles and Huberman content analysis.Results Through data analysis, the influencing factors of self-management behaviors of patients with AIDS included patients' cognition of diseases, their economic burden, their attitude toward disease, family and social support as well as health education from health care workers.Conclusion In order to improve the self-management of patients with AIDS, their disease-related knowledge should be increased and a good mood should be maintained. In addition, reducing economic pressure, strengthening social and family support, maintaining a good lifestyle and strengthening the publicity of health care workers were conductive to patients' self-management.
