Abstract: Hospice care, as a medical humanity service, is attracting increasing attention of the general public and medical experts. This paper describes the important role of nurses in oncology department in hospice care. The nurses' role in mastering patient information, helping to alleviate or ameliorate symptoms, providing psychological comfort, respecting patients' rights, providing superior death education and grief counseling is significant and can help improve the life quality of dying patients and their families.
