Abstract: Objective To discuss the effect of group management on improving interpersonal communication of inpatients with Schizophrenia. Methods In total of 76 inpatients with schizophrenia were divided into control group and intervention group randomly with a random number table, 38 in intervention group and 38 in control group. In control group, patients received routine treatment and care, while in intervention group, patients received not only routine treatment but also a 4-week group management. Life Skills Training (SST) Evaluation Scale was utilized before and after the intervention. Results After intervention, patients' scores of SST Evaluation Scale in intervention group were different from that of control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusion Group management combined with routine medicine treatment can improve interpersonal communication and daily living skills of inpatients with schizophrenia and is worth of being generalized.
