Abstract: Objective To discuss the application of intervention through WeChat platform in out-hospital service for patients with indwelling double J tube. Methods 192 patients admitted to two surgical urological wards and discharged with indwelling double J tube from October 2014 to October 2015 in our hospital were divided into observation group and control group with 96 cases in each group based on which wards they were in. The control group received conventional health education at discharge, while observation group received both conventional health education at discharge and out-hospital service through WeChat platform. Numerical ratingscale, International Prostate Symptom Score, Quality Of Life (QOL) and patient satisfaction were adopted to assess patients' life quality, incidence of complications and patients' satisfaction with services after discharged. Result The incidence of complication in observation group was significantly lower than that in control group (P<0.05, P<0.01);the knowledge and skills mastery, self-care ability and compliance of patients in two group showed statistically significant difference (P<0.05, P<0.01), while the life quality and satisfaction of patients in observation group were significantly superior to these of patients in control group. Conclusion Proving out-hospital services for discharged patients with indwelling double J tube after upper urinary tract calculi surgery through WeChat platform can significantly reduce the incidence of complication and improve life quality of patients.
