Abstract: The digital hydraulic actuator is a close-loop servo control component which has been widely applied in various instruments ac-quiring high control accuracy due to its excellent positioning precision, satisfying both the displacement and the velocity precision require-ments. The simulation model was built in this paper and consequently the theoretical conclusion was obtained that the control accuracy and response capability would improve with higher input hydraulic pressure and driving speed of the step electric motor. Also, an experiment method was proposed for the digital hydraulic actuator to measure its performance under close-loop control. The digital cylinder was veri-fied to possess outstanding control accuracy and response capability under various input hydraulic pressure and driving speed of the step electric motor through the experiment.
