Abstract: With the increase of international communication in China and the internationalization of hospitals, bilingual public signs have been widely used in hospitals in order to provide the necessary information for foreigners. In spite of the wide use of bilingual public signs, due to less attention from hospitals and unqualified translator, there are still many problems in the translation of identifications and signs. Based on summarizing four common types of translation problems, we hope to promote the standardization of Chinese-English bilingual public signs and further complete the construction of standardized English public sign thesaurus for hospitals.
