Abstract: Objective To discuss the effect of JCI standard management on nursing safety and patient satisfaction in obstetric ward.Methods Analyzed the risk factors in obstetric nursing, developed nursing management measures, improved management system, set up emergency plan and strengthened training with JCI standard. Compared the changes of nursing safety and patient satisfaction after taking JCI standard management with before.ResultsAfter taking JCI standard management, the incidence of wrong drugs for patients, less detailed disease observation and deliver observation, nurse-patient disputes and other unsafe events were lower than those before. The reporting rate of unsafe events was higher than before with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Patient satisfaction on service attitude, health education, ward management, nursing skills was significantly higher than that before with statistically significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion JCI standard management is conducive to avoiding the nursing risk in obstetric ward, reducing nursing unsafe events and improving patient satisfaction on nursing.
