Abstract: The gastrointestinal surgery department of Shaoxing people's hospital conducted trials to optimize its out-patient service to improve patient satisfaction. Both patient satisfaction and the quality of hospital services were improved through application of information technology, multi-sector cooperation, significant reduction of discharge waiting time and improvement of checkout success rate at first time.
