Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of evidence-based management on disinfection quality of supply room in hospital. Methods Evidence-based management has been implemented in supply room of our hospital since 2014. Under the guide of evidence-based theory, the management was conducted following the processes of finding out problems, searching evidences, assessment and implementation. The quality and successful delivery rate of materials and the satisfaction of supply services before and after the implementation of evidence-based management were compared correspondingly. Results After the implementation of evidence-based management, the quality of cleaning, packaging, sterilization and delivery were improved with higher qualification rates. Working quality scores of staffs were higher than that before the implementation and the successful delivery time of materials also was shorter than that before. The differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Related medical personnel's satisfaction in aspects of service attitude, effective communication and timely supply was higher than that before and there was significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion Evidence-based management is a kind of scientific management method which could effectively improve the disinfection quality and work efficiency of supply room.
